Enhanced Security Implementation for Campus Wireless Network
The campus wireless network is now a common means for the University community to access the Internet, view videos, obtain news, as well as use other services. Due to its over-the-air nature, wireless communications are vulnerable to intrusive attacks thus making secure access to the wireless network very important. To meet this need, Information Technology Services (ITS) will enable an enhanced security profile on the campus wireless network effective Monday, December 21, 2009 at 10:00PM. Users of the campus wireless network must change their wireless access profile to continue to login and authenticate after this time.
Instructions for changing your wireless access profile for Macintosh and Windows operating system laptops and mobile devices are located on the My Redlands’ Faculty, Staff, and Student tabs.
ITS will schedule activation of the enhanced security profile for each regional center in the future. This change does not impact residence hall wireless users as an enhanced security profile is currently in place.
